The Renovator Community
Big announcements! Let's activate The Renovator Community!
Hello Democracy Renovators!
We’re excited to share several updates as we level up the Renovator community.
Renovating democracy requires more than reading and writing — it also requires connection, learning, and organizing together. We’re working to activate a high-agency community of practice that bridges differences and makes real renovation happen. That includes you.
To that end, we’re making four big changes to The Renovator.
First: Comments are now open to everyone on all articles. We want to hear your thoughtful responses, and we hope this change invites more public-square dialogue — that’s where democracy is most alive.
Second: We’re activating the Renovator Subscriber Chat. Paid subscribers can now talk with Danielle, the Editorial Board, and one another on a regular basis. We’ll open at least one new thread each week — send us ideas!
This week’s prompt: What should define a loyal opposition — and how do we build one that can actually govern? We’re eager to hear your thoughts.
Third: Danielle will host monthly Substack Live conversations on the last Wednesday of each month. Join us Feb. 25 at 12:15 p.m. EST for our inaugural conversation with Bill Kristol, focused on the loyal opposition.
Fourth: We’re launching the first-ever Renovator Assembly on Thursday, March 5, at 7 p.m. EST. On the first Thursday of every month, paid subscribers can gather remotely to learn about democracy renovation efforts across the country and connect in breakout groups with fellow Renovators. These assemblies are designed to inspire your own democracy renovation projects and help you find partners for action.
If you’ve been enjoying The Renovator, now’s a great time to upgrade. For $6 a month, you’ll gain access to the Subscriber Chat and monthly Renovator Assemblies, while also supporting a mission worth believing in.
The Renovator isn’t here to complain about the news. We’re here to roll up our sleeves and renovate our democracy — together.
See you soon, Renovators!
